Connect Razorpay or Cashfree

In short
Open the Payments tile in Set up › Connections — or the Store & payments step during setup — and press Connect on Razorpay or Cashfree. Set Environment to Live (Production on Cashfree), paste your keys and Webhook secret, and press Connect. One gateway is enough.
Where it isSet upConnections
Once a gateway is connected, your agent can collect payment in the chat. The customer gets a secure link and pays on your gateway’s own page — card details never pass through insideDM.
What you need
- A Razorpay or Cashfree account for your business. You only need one — they do the same job.
- Your live keys from that account.
You can connect at any time: in the Store & payments step during setup, or later from the Payments tile in Set up › Connections. You paste your keys once, and they’re kept encrypted.
Connect Razorpay
- Go to Set up › Connections and choose Payments. On the Payments tile, press Connect. (During setup, press Connect on Razorpay in the Store & payments step.)
- Set Environment to Live. It starts on Test.
- Paste your Key ID and Key secret from your Razorpay dashboard.
- Set up the payment alert in Razorpay and paste its Webhook secret — see below.
- Press Connect. When it’s saved, Razorpay shows as connected and becomes your default for payment links.
Connect Cashfree
- Open the same form and choose Cashfree.
- Set Environment to Production. It starts on Sandbox.
- Paste your Client ID, Client secret and Webhook secret. Leave the last box, which is optional, empty.
- Press Connect.
Set up the payment alert
Your gateway alerts insideDM the moment someone pays — your gateway calls this alert a “webhook”. It’s how your agent confirms the payment in the chat without you.
- The connect form shows the address to send the alert to. Copy it.
- In your gateway’s dashboard, add a new webhook, paste that address, and choose a secret word for it.
- Paste the same secret word into Webhook secret.
The secret lets insideDM tell a real alert from a fake one.
Turn on payment links for your agent
Payment links stay off until you turn them on. Go to AI Studio › Agents, open your agent, and in What it may use, switch on Create payment links.
Choose how customers can pay
Go to Set up › Settings & team › AI controls and find Ways customers can pay, under Selling limits. Switch UPI, Cards, Netbanking and Wallets on or off. Your payment links offer only what’s on, and the payment message names them.
A method your gateway hasn’t switched on shows “Turn on in Razorpay” (or Cashfree) — switch it on there first. At least one way to pay always stays on.
What your agent does with it
- Collects payment inside the chat with a secure link.
- Confirms the payment without you.
- Records the order against the customer.
It never gives money back. Refunds are always yours to make, from Orders. See Refunds and returns.
Change your keys or switch gateway
If you make new keys at your gateway, open the Payments tile in Set up › Connections and paste the new ones. Want to use the other gateway instead? Connect it from the same tile — the one you connect becomes your default.
If something’s not right
- “Couldn’t connect. Check the credentials and try again.” — a key was pasted wrongly or belongs to the other environment. Copy each one again from your gateway.
- The Payments tile says Not working — open it to see why. If you’ve made new keys at your gateway, paste them in.
- Customers say the link won’t take their payment — check the environment is Live or Production, not Test or Sandbox.
