Top up your wallet and see what it pays for

In short

The wallet pays for your agents’ work once your plan’s monthly allowance (shown as “AI included”) is used up, at exactly what it costs insideDM — nothing else comes out of it. Add money in Set up › Billing & usage › Wallet & spend › Add funds, or turn on Auto top-up so the balance refills before it runs low.

Your plan and your wallet are two separate things. The plan is charged to your UPI Autopay or card. The wallet is a prepaid balance you top up — by hand or automatically — and it pays for one thing only.

What the wallet pays for

Every time an agent works for you — replying in a chat or under a post, drafting a reply for your team, tagging a conversation, or learning your website, knowledge and products — it has a running cost.

  1. Your plan pays first, up to its monthly allowance: ₹100 on Free, ₹300 on Starter, ₹1,200 on Growth and ₹4,500 on Scale. The screen calls this AI included.
  2. Past that, the wallet pays, at exactly what the work cost insideDM, with nothing added.

The allowance resets every month, whichever way you pay for your plan. Your wallet starts at ₹0.

What never comes out of the wallet

  • WhatsApp messages. Meta charges them to the payment method on your own WhatsApp Business account, per delivered message. They never touch your wallet.
  • Instagram DMs. They’re free.
  • Your plan. It renews on your UPI Autopay or card.

The plan and the wallet are never added together and never appear on one invoice.

Add money to your wallet

  1. Go to Set up › Billing & usage and open Wallet & spend.
  2. Choose Add funds.
  3. Under Amount in rupees, enter a whole number between ₹100 and ₹5,00,000.
  4. Choose Continue to secure payment.
  5. Enter the six-digit security code we send you.
  6. Pay in the Razorpay window. When it’s done you’ll see “Wallet topped up.”

Nothing is charged until you approve the payment in Razorpay. Each top-up is listed in the Invoices tab as Wallet top-up — choose Open receipt to see it. It’s a payment receipt, not a GST invoice.

Let it top itself up

Turn on auto top-up and the balance refills before it runs low, so your agents never stop mid-conversation.

  1. In Wallet & spend, choose Auto top-up: off.
  2. Enter your security code.

You’ll see “Auto top-up is on.” and the button reads Auto top-up: on. Choose it again whenever you want to turn it off.

Keep an eye on it

  • Wallet & spend shows your balance (tagged Low or Empty when it needs attention), roughly how many days it will last, and what was Added this cycle and Spent this cycle.
  • Activity shows what each job your agents did cost.
  • Usage shows what your plan includes and how much you’ve used: Conversations, AI included, Agents on, Team seats, and WhatsApp templates — a count of templates sent, not a bill.
  • Overview puts your plan and your wallet spend side by side under What this cycle will cost, as two separate charges.

If the wallet runs dry

With auto top-up on, the balance refills before this happens. Your agents don’t run on credit: if auto top-up is off and the wallet can’t cover the next reply, your agent hands that chat to you instead of answering:

Handed to you

The chat waits for you under Needs you — in Conversations, and in AI Studio › Overview, where it reads “AI credits need replenishing”. Reply to the customer yourself, then add funds or turn on auto top-up so your agents can answer the next messages.

If something’s not right

  • “Top-ups are between ₹100 and ₹5,00,000.” Change the amount and try again.
  • “Razorpay Checkout could not load.” Check your connection and try again.
  • “Nothing was charged. Your wallet is unchanged.” You closed Razorpay before paying. Start again when you’re ready.
  • “Your payment went through. The wallet updates as soon as Razorpay confirms it.” The money is safe; refresh in a moment.
  • “Your role can see the wallet but not add funds.” Ask someone with the Admin role.
